MITES
HEAD COACH - JOE PURTELL
Joe is in his first season with the Raiders, but has many years of coaching experience. Joe brings an extensive hockey resume that included playing college and professional hockey on the West Coast.
ASSISTANT COACH - RON CARPENTER

HEAD COACH - Peter Petri

Peter has coached at all levels of hockey from mites through the High School Ranks. He has coached many players that have ended up with very succesfull hockey careers

HEAD COACH - DAN SULLIVAN
Dan grew up in Stoneham playing for both the Spartans and in the MBHL. Played for Team USA New England in 1983, competing in Germany and The Netherlands. Played in the former NEJHL before enlisting in the Marine Corps. Dan has been coaching youth hockey since 1987 in many programs around the Boston area at all levels. His focus on skills development and team play is evident in the response of the players to his style of coaching. He returns to the Raiders for his second year and has committed long term to the organization in the development of the 2000 team

HEAD COACH - KEVIN GILL

Kevin was a three year varsity player for St Dominic Savio High School. In his senior year he led them to the state tournament as the third leading scorer. While at Savio he played against players like Billy Odwer, and Jay Miller priding himself as a shut down center. He was offered a scholarship to Boston University in 1978 but declined due to family obligations. The love of playing kept Kevin on the ice in area leagues playing against several local Bruins and NHL players looking to stay shape. Kevin moved into the coaching ranks after seeing the lack of experience and coaching ability in youth hockey. Kevin’s playing career taught him that a good coach runs practices based on fundamentals, his belief is that a game is nothing more than the end result of practice. Any good hockey player has developed their skill sets through good coaching not playing in endless games. Kevin’s teaching philosophy is in line with the Raiders development model and we are very excited to have him on board for the 2010-11 season.

PEEWEE MAJOR
HEAD COACH - DON SHAW
Don brings a wealth of hockey knowledge to the Raiders organization. Don played professional hockey for three seasons from 1983-86 in the Detroit Red Wings farm system. Dons coaching philosophy focuses on skill development and solid all around team play.
ASSISTANT COACH - GENE AUGUST

BANTAM MINOR
HEAD COACH - BILL BLAKE

Bill coached over 14 years with Marblehead Youth Hockey as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach from Mite through Midget Levels. Bill emphases are on skills training which is evident in the strength of his team this season.

CO -HEAD COACH - KEN PATTERSON
CO -HEAD COACH - RYAN HENDRICKSON

Ryan comes to the Raiders after his successful 4 year career with the Wesleyan University Cardinals. At Wesleyan Ryan was captain in his senior year. During that season he helped the team to a quarterfinal berth in the NESCAC game.

HEAD COACH - LOU MOSCHELLA

U18 JUNIOR DEVOLPMENT
HEAD COACH - SCOTT THOMAS
Scott will be coaching the junior team again this year. Last year under his guidance the team placed second in the strong IJHL select division. Scott is also the North Shore Raiders Executive Director and Director of Player Development. Scott played 11 seasons of professional hockey which included 75 N.H.L. and 652 A.H.L. and I.H.L. games.
